Ocala Vascular Surgeon, Dr. Ravi Chandra, Appointed to Florida Board of Medicine

Dr. Ravi Chandra, Medical Director of Surgical Specialists of Ocala and the Vein Center of North Florida, was appointed to the Florida Board of Medicine by Governor Ron DeSantis on April 4, 2021.

The Florida Board of Medicine is a state agency tasked with regulating the practice of medicine across Florida. Its mission is to protect and enhance the public’s health, safety and welfare by establishing and maintaining standards of excellence used in regulating the practice of medicine in the state of Florida through licensure, discipline and education. The Florida Board of Medicine consists of fifteen members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Each member holds a four-year term on the board. “Dr. Chandra is highly regarded in the Florida medical community,” said Christian Rutherford, CEO of Pivotal Healthcare Partners. “His appointment to the state medical board will contribute to the safe practice of medicine in our state.” Surgical Specialists of Ocala and the Vein Center of North Florida are both part of Pivotal Healthcare Partners, a physician practice management company based in Jacksonville, Florida.

About Dr. Ravi Chandra

Dr. Ravi Chandra has been in practice for 24 years in Ocala providing high quality vascular care to the community. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Endovascular Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has served on the board of Marion County Medical Society for five years. He has also been active in hospital administration as Chief of Surgery, Chief of Staff and Board Vice Chairman of Munroe Regional Medical Center. Dr. Chandra is an active board member of the International Society of Vascular Surgeons and Assistant Professor of Surgery at University of Central Florida.
